GIVE YOUR IDEAS ON NOACA's CLIMATE ACTION PLAN

October 19, 2023

The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA), the five-county regional planning agency for our region, is in the process of developing a five-county Climate Action Plan.

The plan will have three main components. First, an assessment of current conditions, including an inventory of the greenhouse gases that we are currently generating and an assessment of climate risks and vulnerabilities. Second, recommendations on actions we can take to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Third, recommendations on actions we can take to become more resilient and adapt to climate changes that will occur despite our best efforts.

The plan expected to be completed sometime in the first half of next year. In the meantime, you have the opportunity to provide input and suggestions about the plan by responding to NOACA's survey, which can be completed in about 10 minutes. You can access the survey by going to NOACA's website at www.noaca.org and scrolling to the page on the Climate Action Plan or by using this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/X9S8MXF.

Completing the survey will also put your email address on a list to receive a copy of the draft plan when it is completed, at which time it will be sent to all interested people for another round of input and revision.

Our region, which includes Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina Counties can be a leader in positive action to protect our environment and restore a healthy climate.
